" Be the change you
want to see in this world " - Gandhi
Growing
up in beautiful Bavaria I was surrounded by meadows and fields,
rolling hills and forrests most of my life. A fact that still
makes me leave town as often as I can to spend time in Mother
Natures lap. I love pretty much everything that has to do with
the outdoors as long
as it is environmental mindful. I went to school in Freising
(our WEIHENSTEPHAN
brewery is the oldest on the planet- founded in 1040 !!) and
later studied Architecture in Munich.
While studying I got involved in a business that would change
my professional life. First I worked as a sound guy and a camera
assistant before I started working as a freelance Director of
Photography in 1991.
In 1992 I came to Los Angeles for 2 years. I worked here as
a 1st / 2nd Assistant Cameraman on features, commercials and
music videos and flew back to Munich a couple of times a year
to keep shooting as a D.P. for various production companies
to finance my stay in LA.
In 1994 I moved back to Munich for a great job offer and was
shortly after booked out as a D.P.
Spring 1997 was another important time, changing everything.
I took the steadicam workshop in Malibu with Garrett Brown.
I was intrigued and faszinated by this wonderful piece of equipment
and knew I was hooked. And with Garrett as my head instructor
I had not only the pleasure to get to know one of the most wonderful
people in the business but found a mentor and instiration.
By now I have been operating and shooting for close to 20 years
pretty much anything on land, in the air, underwater. Anywhere,
Anytime, Anyplace. Features, commercials, music videos, TV series,
documentaries, underwater productions (I am Dive Master # DM-163635),
travel, adventure, entertainment, talk/live/multi camera shows,
concerts, sports, news etc. pretty much all over the World.
